More of Zerrin's Memorable Movies
Kadersizler (The Unfortunate Ones) 1979 As mentioned in Part 4, Zerrin's Memorable Movies, about 20 minutes into Kadersizler (The Unfortunate Ones), the movie's plot takes a strong turn toward violence, eroticism, and tragedy. The movie's plot thickens... When Deli Ferhat goes to Malatyalı Sabri's HQ to investigate his operation, Sabri's gang thoroughly beat him up -- and leave his bloodied body on the roadside, as a warning message to others. Once recovered, Deli Ferhat seeks his own private revenge. He makes a sneak attack on Sabri and Luks Şermin (Zerrin Egeliler) while they're making love, and shames the couple in their underwear -- in front of the rest of Sabri's gang. Tempers flare and just when it looks like Deli Ferhat will be overwhelmed, his friends Salih and Niyazi show up to save him. The trio escape taking the half-naked Luks Şermin (Egeliler) with them as a sort of insurance policy...to a mountain hideaway. Now Malatyalı Sabri wants his own revenge, so he places a 10,000 Turkish Lira reward on Deli Ferhat's head. When Ferhat hears of it, he reckons the reward is too low. So he comes out of hiding, robs not 10,000 but 50,000 Turkish Lira from Sabri and gives it to his own aging mom, Aliye (played by Şeref Çokşeker, who also played Superman's mother) -- before he returns to the mountain hideaway. Malatyalı Sabri is infuriated. So, he takes his gang to Salih's gecekondo and when Salih's daughter can't (or won't) give the location of her father's hideaway, Sabri let's her be ravished by the maniacal Ata Saka Then, through a go-between, Sabri sends Ferhat a challenge to come out of hiding. When the go-between delivers the challenge, he also describes the terrible acts that Sabri's gang has committed -- and when Salih hears the description, he goes wild. In a transference of his furious feelings toward Sabri, Salih places blame for the horrific escalation of violence on Zerrin Egeliler (as Luks Şermin, who is still the trio's captive) -- and he fiercely attacks her. After beating her nearly senseless, Salih (now in a blind rage) inserts his loaded pistol into Şermin's most private part and repeatedly pulls the trigger, until there are no more bullets left. Which is the beginning of the end... The movie's climax Sabri's gang and our trio are now on a collision course -- and when they clash (in a deserted quarry), bullets fly in all directions. So do deadly javelins... Ferhat heaves a javelin-shaped post at the fleeing Ata Saka that finds its mark in a most painful place... but Ferhat can't escape his own violent end either -- in this 900 KB Windows Media Video .WMV file. Both sides in the battle suffer mortal casualties -- and, soon, only Sabri and Salih are left standing. But Salih has got the only remaining loaded gun, and he empties it into the defenceless Sabri. The movie's dénouement Afterwards, Salih slowly surveys the scene of devastation. Dead bodies lie everywhere, including those of his two friends, Ferhat and Niyazi. Salih kneels beside Niyazi's motionless corpse, bows his head remorsefully, rocking to and fro. The police arrive on the run, but they are far too late. There's nothing left for them to do except lead the inconsolable Salih away...
